The Evolution of the Hair of Dana Scully

Items of note:

• There are only six episodes in which Gillian Anderson did not “appear” as Scully. Two of those episodes, The Gift (Season 8) and Musings of a Cigarette Smoking Man (Season 4) feature Scully in flashback footage to the pilot episode, but no actual on-camera time for Gillian. Additionally, Scully is missing from 3 (Due to the birth of Gillian’s daughter, Piper), Zero Sum (Due to filming of “The Mighty”), Unusual Suspects (Due to filming for “Fight the Future”) and Travelers (due to filming/re-shoots for “Fight the Future”)
• In The Sixth Extinction: Amor Fati Scully’s hair changes drastically mid-episode, from slightly fluffy bob the entire episode to smooth bob a la The Amazing Maleeni (I spent way too much damn time staring at her hair the past couple days to know that) for the hallway scene through the end of the episode. Post Amor Fati, her hair goes back to the slightly fluffy bob for a couple episodes. I can only assume this is from them doing reshoots after her hair had been changed. As such, I used a slightly fluffy bob screenshot for that episode. Deal with it. 

Notes From Me:

1. I tried to only include screen shots that were only of Scully. I believe I only failed once (Dreamland, there’s a blurry Mulder in the background).
2. Projects like this are what come out of me being bored whilst on vacation to see family.
3. I realize that aroberts did her own version of this not too long ago by seasons. I got bored, and decided to take it one further and go episode by episode. That one is prettier than mine because I am not-so-awesome at the screencap editing skillz.
4. I now know way (WAY) too much about the hair of Dana Scully.
